The College of Science Information Network (COSINe) provides a wide array of services.  Below is a listing of Core Services, and optional, addon services.  If you have a special need/request which is not listed here, please contact us to setup a time to discuss your need.

Core Services Support for Windows/Mac/Linux Computers: $428/year

• College of Science account
• Email

• COSINe Helpdesk hardware and software support
• fully supported user accounts are allocated 2 GB data storage space with nightly backup
• 1 month storage of backup files

• Operating System installation & support
  • Microsoft XP Professional (license provided to COS users through MS Campus Agreement)

Automated Host Monitoring
The status of IP addressable equipment to the level of IP services can be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and change-of-status notifications sent to pagers or email accounts.
Host Monitoring is included as part of the server maintenance package offered by COSINe. Hosts not covered under the maintenance package may be monitored at the following rates:

Initial setup and ongoing annual charge	$10/monitored service
Modifications to service, host, contact, or schedule:	$5/change

Expanded Online Storage
Beyond the standard departmental allocation under basic Core Services, additional online storage can be allocated to departments at the following rates:

Per allocation change	$45
Per Gigabyte storage per year	$2.40

Note that these charges provide online storage on RAID 5 drives, but do not provide incremental backup to tape.

Incremental Backup
Any network host--your desktop, laptop, expanded server space or a local server--on campus that is logged on to the Science domain can be added to the standard backup schedule according to the following rates:

Setup charge per change	$45
Monthly administrative overhead charge	$12
Per Gigabyte backed up per month	$0.40

Along with redundant backups, this service allows restoration of files to the state they were in at the end of any of the previous 30 days.

Network Connectivity
Network connectivity for COSINe supported devices is included in the COSINe support package. Network devices connectd to the network infrastructure purchased and maintained by the College of Science, but not under COSINe support, will be charged $4 per device, per month, with the first year paid in advance.
